75k+ depending on experience

What does the role look like:

  • Support children aged 0-12 to achieve their goals through community-based therapy.

  • Work within the NDIS framework, along with Medicare funded, and privately paying clients.

  • You will have a varied caseload, including Autistic and ADHD'er clients, and clients with other developmental differences or genetic differences.

  • Work closely with families, kindergartens, schools, and other allied health professionals as you provide services within the child's natural environment.

  • You have the opportunity to have autonomy over scheduling, or receive support if this is a preference.

  • Slowly build your caseload with the 'New Grad Pathway'.

  • 4 days per week client facing, 1 day per week client-free administration day

What does the 'New Grad Pathway" entail?

  • Start your role by shadowing a senior therapist, including attending sessions, writing progress notes, and learning how to use the client management system

  • Slowly build your caseload, starting with one client per day

  • Build-up yo your full-time case load of 4 clients per day within the first 6 months, following a detailed and guided weekly plan provided on induction day

  • Benefit from your weekly administration day that is scheduled

  • Access weekly 1:1 supervision with a senior therapist, plus access to a senior therapist throughout each week to ask questions via phone or zoom as needed

  • Create an individualised learning plan tailored to your interests, including attending personal development days or webinars to support your learning

  • Access books and e-books to further your knowledge on neuro-diversity affirming care, and all other areas of OT

How is this different to other roles?

  • At Play To Live OT, we focus on 'people over profits', meaning we have lower KPI's (billable targets) compared to many other providers. This enables us to spend more time preparing for sessions, debriefing after sessions, and scheduling report writing time as needed.

  • A full-time case load consists of seeing 16 clients per week, allowing for 1 administration day per week to minimise therapist burnout.

  • Other services have caseloads of up to 30 clients per week with little to no dedicated administration time.

  • Spend your client free time at home or a local cafe - this includes time in the middle of the day during your lunch break or non-client facing time.

  • We focus on supporting all people to identify how they work best and implement this into their day. All Neurotypes are welcome and supported.

  • We support therapists to identify their strengths and interest and support them in building a caseload around these strengths and interests.
