FAQ's

Check out some of the most common questions we get about our service below. If you have a question that isn't listed below, or would just like more information, please get in contact with us for more information.

  • What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy enables people to participate in the activities they find meaningful. These activities include taking care of oneself (and others), working, volunteering, and participating in hobbies, interests and social events (OT Aus). For children, this can include participating in play, engaging with peers, completing self-care tasks and more!
  • Do I need a referral to access occupational therapy?
No. There are many ways to access services, including a self-referral (meaning you would like your child access services). Your GP or pediatrician may also refer you to access occupational therapy however this is not required.
  • How do I get started with services?
You can either complete the online form with your details or give us a call. We will be able to discuss possible options regarding therapy along with any waitlists that may apply.
  • Where do sessions occur?
We complete all sessions in the child's natural environment - for example, at home, school, kinder, or childcare. Each sessions offers the opportunity to collaborate on how your child is going at home and in therapy sessions through parent/educator discussions.
  • Can I use my NDIS or Medicare funding?
Yes. Play to Live Occupational Therapy accepts self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Medicare rebates are also available through a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) provided by your GP. If you do not have access to these funding or rebate scheme services services can be paid for privately.
